Finally read this. Been in similar, but maybe not so dangerous situations where I've been off path and had no option but to plough through moors of bogs & babys' heads (without a bike). Enjoyed your misfortune.. 😆

It seems it's always in pursuit of a shortcut, you end up making it way harder for yourself than if you'd just been patient! I'm learning my lesson slowly.

Hell of an adventure! Glad you didn't end up hypothermic. The type 1 days may be the best in the moment but the type 2 (or even 3) make for the best stories once you've fully recovered!

Brilliant adventure. Definitely a little sketchy, but that just makes it even better! I’m hoping to move permanently near Ballater in the coming weeks, so I’m really excited to explore everything the area has to offer. Looking forward to seeing what adventures await!
